Air Quality Update

Dear Members,

After doing some extra research, I believe the policy I announced in my recent Update email was probably too conservative. Last year we closed the pool when the air was unhealthy, but we had a different situation–guards were always present and pool keys were turned off. This year, with active keys, members should exercise their own best judgment. In cases of extremely dangerous air, however, we will completely close and turn keys off. So here is what we will do going forward:

If it is forecast that the AQI will be consistently over 150 for several hours or more, we will advise members via email and excuse lifeguards (on weekends). If AQI reaches 200 we will completely close the pool and turn keys off. We will let gate guards know in advance of they are excused from duty; they should call Denise Senft or me if they have questions or concerns.

The pool will open as usual today as we continuously monitor air quality. Thanks you for your cooperation at this time.

New Pool Guest Rules

Dear Members,

The Board has decided that guests no longer need be family only. We will return to the normal guest pattern: four (4) guests per membership at one time, or one guest family (may exceed 4). Guest fee remains $2 per person, to be deposited in the metal box at the entry. Reminder: members are responsible for the behavior of guests.

For the present, pool parties are still suspended. The Board will revisit this policy at each meeting, taking into account the safety and convenience of all members as the pandemic continues.

Rules/Regs: Things To Keep In Mind

Dear Members,

It’s good to see so many of you at the pool enjoying the sunny (but cool) weather and our expanded freedom. With additional folks attending, many of whom are new to Agua Linda, I would like to remind everyone of the updated rules and regulations. The full text of these has been emailed to all members, and posted in the larger glass case on the pool building. Here are some main points to keep in mind: (The rest of this notice can be view at the Members Only section).

Pool Restrictions Dropped Because of High Heat

Dear Members,

The weather forecast calls for high heat in the next few days. Your pool Board has therefore decided to drop COVID restrictions tomorrow, Thursday, rather than wait until Sunday.

  • Essentially, you will be able to come and swim at any time there are lifeguards present (1 pm to 7 pm); no advance reservations will be required.
  • Masks will not be required for anyone in the pool area outside; unvaccinated persons are asked to wear masks in the bathrooms
  • Social distancing is dropped.
  • There will be no screening.
  • Our normal 9 am to 9 pm schedule will resume on Sunday; gate guard duties will also resume then.

Please bear with us in this accelerated transition. We also encourage you to be familiar with the updated Rules and Regulations; they may answer many of your questions. Enjoy the water!
