Labor Day Weekend

Dear Members,

As we look forward to a warm weekend, I would like to mention several things to keep in mind:

-The pool may be crowded at times. When it is, please refrain from activities that could interfere with other swimmers, such as using large rafts or other flotation toys, ball throwing across the whole length of the pool, excessive noise, splashing, and so on. Lifeguards are responsible for maintaining a safe and comfortable environment, and should be obeyed at all times.

-COVID protocols remain as they have been, in accordance with county guidance: observe social distancing as much as possible and wear face coverings when in the bathrooms.

-If you use one of the gas grills, be sure to clean the grate and turn the gas off when you are finished.
-No glass food or beverage containers should be brought to the pool. Broken glass is hard to clean up completely, and poses a danger when a lot of people, especially children, are present.

Let’s all have a fun and safe weekend!

Air Quality Update

Dear Members,

After doing some extra research, I believe the policy I announced in my recent Update email was probably too conservative. Last year we closed the pool when the air was unhealthy, but we had a different situation–guards were always present and pool keys were turned off. This year, with active keys, members should exercise their own best judgment. In cases of extremely dangerous air, however, we will completely close and turn keys off. So here is what we will do going forward:

If it is forecast that the AQI will be consistently over 150 for several hours or more, we will advise members via email and excuse lifeguards (on weekends). If AQI reaches 200 we will completely close the pool and turn keys off. We will let gate guards know in advance of they are excused from duty; they should call Denise Senft or me if they have questions or concerns.

The pool will open as usual today as we continuously monitor air quality. Thanks you for your cooperation at this time.

New Pool Guest Rules

Dear Members,

The Board has decided that guests no longer need be family only. We will return to the normal guest pattern: four (4) guests per membership at one time, or one guest family (may exceed 4). Guest fee remains $2 per person, to be deposited in the metal box at the entry. Reminder: members are responsible for the behavior of guests.

For the present, pool parties are still suspended. The Board will revisit this policy at each meeting, taking into account the safety and convenience of all members as the pandemic continues.

Rules/Regs: Things To Keep In Mind

Dear Members,

It’s good to see so many of you at the pool enjoying the sunny (but cool) weather and our expanded freedom. With additional folks attending, many of whom are new to Agua Linda, I would like to remind everyone of the updated rules and regulations. The full text of these has been emailed to all members, and posted in the larger glass case on the pool building. Here are some main points to keep in mind: (The rest of this notice can be view at the Members Only section).

Request for Gate Guard Sign Ups

Hello Agua Linda Family,
Happy Father’s Day!

I am reaching out today to ask the members who have yet to sign up for their gate guard, to please do so as soon as they can. We’re in need of a June 27th gate guard, as well as several other dates. I have another request…with lowering the required (2) gate guard shifts to (1) shift per membership, we’ll be short by approximately (25) days. If we could possibly have a few more members sign up voluntarily for a second gate guard, that would be wonderful! I also want to thank a few of the families who have already generously signed up for (2) shifts…the Otero, Folks, and Klepatsky families, “You ROCK!”  Consider hanging out at the pool, BBQ and have a great time while closing the pool down! It takes a village to keep our pool going.

Signing up is easy. Sign into the, “Members Only,” section then click on the, “Gate Guard Sign Up.”
Thank you for your consideration and membership at Agua Linda!

Denise,
Vice President
