Become a Member

Becoming a member of Agua Linda Swim Club means joining a close-knit, family-oriented community. As a cooperative, our memberships are limited to 125, ensuring a manageable size and a sense of ownership for every member.

Membership Information

Ownership: Agua Linda members own an equal share of the pool and corporation, represented by a stock certificate.

Transfer Process: Memberships are sold directly by current members. Prospective members negotiate the stock certificate sales price directly with the seller.

Average Stock Certificate Sales Price: Currently around $1,100.

Transfer Fees: A one-time administrative transfer fee of $125 and a $25 key deposit are required at the time of transfer.

Family Memberships: Each membership includes all immediate family members living in the same household. Membership applications are verified to confirm residency.

Annual Dues: Members must pay $575 in annual dues each March to maintain their membership and access the pool.

Work Contribution: Members must commit to 2 Gate Guard shifts or equivalent community project work to ensure the pool’s upkeep and operation.

How to Become a Member

Agua Linda Swim Club is a private, member-owned community pool. Memberships are limited and become available only when a current member is ready to sell.

Regular Memberships

A regular membership is a permanent, equity-based membership in Agua Linda that grants full access to the pool and voting rights within the organization. There are two ways to pursue a regular membership:

Option 1: Find a Seller

If you know a current member who is selling their membership, you may negotiate directly with them.

Option 2: Join Our Seasonal Waitlist

If you do not have a seller, you may join our seasonal waitlist. You will be contacted via email if it is your turn on the list and a membership is available. (You may be contacted after the close of the season if a membership becomes available off season.)

Waitlist Information

Beginning with the 2026 season, Agua Linda will operate a seasonal waitlist rather than a continuously open waitlist.

  • The waitlist will open at the start of each season and close at the end of that season.

  • Each season begins with a fresh waitlist.

  • Memberships are offered on a first-come, first-served basis for that season.

  • This ensures the list reflects households that are actively interested and allows the club to manage the process efficiently.

Associate Memberships

If a regular membership is not immediately available, families at the top of the current season’s waitlist may be offered an associate membership, which is a one-year trial membership.

Associate Membership Details

  • Full access to the pool and its amenities for that season

  • No voting rights

  • Required participation in Gate Guard or approved volunteer project assignments

  • Cost: $750 per season

  • A household may hold an associate membership for a maximum of two seasons

  • If you decline a regular membership when offered, you will not be eligible for an associate membership

Relationship to the Waitlist

Agua Linda operates with two pathways toward regular membership:

  1. Seasonal waitlist
The seasonal waitlist is a first-come, first-served list that opens at the beginning of each season. It represents general interest in obtaining a regular membership.

  2. Associate member status
Associate members are families who were at the top of the seasonal waitlist and were actively pursuing a regular membership when offered associate status.

Once you become an associate member:

  • You do not rejoin the seasonal waitlist each year.

  • You are considered in “active status.”

  • You are next in line for regular membership opportunities.

  • You may remain in associate status for up to two seasons.

  • If a regular membership becomes available, it is first offered to eligible associate members before being offered to those on the current seasonal waitlist.

  • If you decline a regular membership offer, associate status will not continue into the following season.

In short:

  • The seasonal waitlist is the general entry point.

  • Associate members are those already vetted, actively participating, and positioned closest to a regular membership.
