Gate Guard Procedures
Members are responsible for two Gate Guard assignments. Contact the Vice President with questions and to request an assignment date. New members will be assigned to “shadow” a more experienced member the first time they act as Gate Guard.
Gate Guard must be 18 years of age or older.
Check-in with the lifeguard before 6pm. The lifeguard will advise the gate guard of any matters of importance.
Check Pool Party Calendar to see if there are any pool parties scheduled.
Gate Guard is responsible for ensuring that all members and guests adhere to all the Rules and Regulations. If you have a problem with anyone and are unable to resolve it yourself, try to obtain the person’s name and call the Vice President. If the Gate Guard director is not available, call another board member using the posted phone list. IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY, CALL 911.
Prior to leaving, Gate Guard must:
Check Bathrooms. Make sure water in the showers is turned off. Any clothing left behind, put in the “lost and found” basket next to the drinking fountain. DO NOT LOCK THE BATHROOMS.
Pick up any papers, garbage, etc.. found around the pool.
Clean all the tables with cleaning supplies found in either bathrooms.
On Wednesdays, take the trash bins out to the street (Seven Hills Road) for pickup. The bins are to be taken to the “steppe” along side the driveway.
Straighten lounge chairs and close umbrellas.
Make sure propane is turned off at the tanks in the BBQs and the BBQs are covered.
Pick up the noodles, paddleboards, or other pool equipment/toys.
Fold up the ping pong table and put away the paddles and balls.
Cover swimming pool (except on Mondays & Thursdays). Safety Tip: Lock the wheels on cover holder to prevent unexpected movement. And use the crank to control spooling speed.
Complete the Gate Guard checklist. Make sure your name is legible.
Close the parking lot gate and padlock (code: 2025) when leaving.
Gate Guard must be present for the entire three hour shift (6pm-9pm).
Call the next gate guard on the schedule to remind them of their shift. Leave a message if not home. Try not to call too late.
If you know in advance you can not make it on your scheduled day, you are responsible for arranging coverage. In case of emergency, please notify an Agua Linda Board memeber. The Vice President is the officer in charge of Gate Guards.
